 Seaford Athletics Mission

The Seaford Athletic Department strives to develop and maintain a comprehensive athletic program that seeks the greatest development possible of it’s participants within the framework of the total district educational program. The goal is to promote physical, mental and social growth through athletics in an effort to instill positive attributes that will remain with the student-athlete throughout his / her lifetime.

The Seaford School District provides participation opportunities for students in a variety of interscholastic sport activities at both the high school and middle school.  Sports activities are conducted during the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School levels. Seaford sport teams participate as a part of the competitive 14-school Henlopen Athletic Conference.

Seaford Athletics has enjoyed a rich history and tradition garnering numerous county, divisional, Conference, and State championships. Members of the coaching staff have been recognized state-wide for their team’s success. Many hold positions on various state committees for rules, All-State and tournament selection further illustrating the respect they have gained among peers in their particular sports.

Seaford’s athletic facilities are among the best in the state. Each season, various sport committees utilize Seaford venues to host play-off contests for the state championship tournaments. Outdoor facilities are meticulously maintained throughout the year. Each field contains its own electronic scoreboard. Seaford is one of two schools in the state of Delaware with a lighted soccer stadium that also contains a six-lane, all-weather track. The baseball field is recognized as one of the state’s best being likened in quality to minor league fields. The gymnasium and weight room have undergone recent renovations adding to the aesthetic value and user friendliness of the facility. Further plans to improve the athletic facilities are on-going.
