Reading Skill:

Compare and Contrast- when we compare two or more characters, events, or things, we tell how they are alike.  When we contrast two or more characters, events, or things, we tell how they are differerent.

Authors Point of View- every story is told from a specific point of view, the position from which the author presents the action and information in the story.  The narrator might be a character in the story or an outside observer who is not involved with thte action of the story

  • First Person - a character in the story who can speak from his or her view point.  Words such as I, me, my
  • Third Person - an outside observer who reveals the thoughts and feelings of others characters, too.  Words such as he, she, they
